Wow it’s only been two and a half months since I rebranded my website back in May 2019, and I’ve been nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award at the end of July!
I’d like to thank April from Rodes on the Road for my nomination. The community of bloggers is incredible. Everyone is always so helpful and wants everyone to succeed.
While I am still very new to blogging, I look forward to all the amazing opportunities to come.
What is the Sunshine Blogger Award?
The Sunshine Blogger Award is given to bloggers by other bloggers who are creative, positive, and inspiring while spreading sunshine to the blogging community.
Rules for Being Nominated:
- Thank the blogger who nominated you in your blog post and link back to his/her blog.
- Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you.
- Nominate 11 new bloggers to receive the award and write them 11 questions.
- List these rules and display the sunshine blogger award logo in your post and on your blog.
Here’s What Rodes on the Road Asked Me:
1. What inspired you to write? I was inspired to write through my love of reading. In elementary school was always the one that had something to read. I would plow through books every summer during high school. I think my highest number of books I’ve read in one summer was around 46. Through reading I also wanted to create my own stories and characters which lead to some short stories and plots.
2. If you’re given a chance to talk to unfortunate young children, what would you say? I’d tell them that it can only go up from here, but you have to be determined and make your own success.
3. When you have to do an inspirational poem or message, how does it sound? It would probably sound really cliche. I don’t think I’ve ever written anything inspirational.
4. Life hit us hard sometimes, and when you hit bottom what do you do? Do you write something about it? In what way? Journal, poem, and or song? I usually call up one of my good friends and have a long talk about whatever the problem is. It is hard sometimes because we will always live in different time zones.
5. Who you look up to? I wouldn’t say I look up to any particular person. I look up to people that are driven and make their own success while having a positive attitude.
6. Do you have a favorite book and or author that helps you positively change your life? If yes, what book and who is the name of the author? Again, I wouldn’t say there’s one particular book. I’d say any book that has something to do with travel and being independent.
7. Blogging is not an easy task to do. So what difficulties do you encounter and how do you handle them? The struggle of page views and engagement is always hard. No one will know about you unless you tell them. So the more eyeballs I can get in front of the more opportunities I can get. I have focused my engagement to Twitter and Pinterest. If I spread myself too thin across all social media platforms, I will fail. If you have a low amount of followers but high engagement, I would say that’s better than loads of followers with low engagement.
8. Why should readers follow you? The difference between my blog and other travel blogs is that I’m not on a temporary stay or vacation in a country. I live and work in a country. This gives me a unique view from the local perspective that travelers rarely get to experience. How I see a country will be completely different from someone only visiting for a couple days or weeks. Readers will be able to get insight on local places others don’t get to go to or know about.
9. What inspires you to travel, and why? The food, it’s can only be good if it’s from the country of origin!
10. Do have a life quotation that can describe your life journey as a whole? What would it be? “When life give you lemons, make lemonade.”
11. In what way you can help spread positivity to your community and to the world we live in? I think being positive and encouraging can go a long way.
